Authors’ note :- I am highly thankful to the Wikipedia and other Indian Princely State websites from where I have taken the details about the states . I am also thankful to the authors Mr. Adolph Koeppel and Mr. Raymond D. Manners of the book ,“THE COURT FEE AND REVENUE STAMPS OF THE PRINCELY STATES OF INDIA ”from where I have referred to the type ,reference numbers and the other details of the stamps. I did not give my own new reference numbers to the stamps just to avoid the confusion among the collectors. I am also thankful to Natwar Somani ji of Ajmer for helping me to enrich my collection to this level. I have kept all the jagirs/ fief or feudatory states under the main State they belonged to , and not as a separate state as these were not have any recognition as independent state.

Dear DR,
ReplyDeleteAdmire your passion for this kind of work.
Excellent.
PS Bhatti
Thank dear P.S.
DeleteVery nice! Amused to see such an elaborate collection and details on India stamps.
ReplyDeleteAn amazing collection and one place to see all of India's stamps history.
ReplyDeleteExcellent, well done Gupta Ji, you have really worked hard and I salute you for your passion. Your blog is I think the best on Indian Princely States' stamps with having stamps of almost most of the Indian Princely States and Estates. You have done your own research on some of the States' stamps. Really a great Job.
ReplyDeleteThank you Natwar Somani ji for your valuable remarks by recognizing my work and my passion towards collection of these stamps and also appreciated my presentation of the same. Thank you again.
ReplyDeleteWow excellent collection sir
ReplyDeleteWoinderful!. I believe that revenue estamps exist for the principate of Chhaliar (I have a scan of one). The principate has web page and I wrote the article in Wikipedia but only in the catalan wikipedia (is missing in other wikipedias). State was part of Rewa Kantha, Pandu Mehwas division, with a superfice of 28,5 km² and integrated by 24 villages. Was tributary of Baroda and founded by the chohans. Originally the states of Vakhtapur and Rajpur were part of Chhatiar, but later they passed to other branchs of the family.
