Ambaliara princely state fiscal court fee /revenue stamp

Ambaliara / Ambliara state was formerly Western India States ( Sabar Kanta ) Agency : now in Gujarat State , area of state was 207 Sq. Km. comprising of 32 Villages and the  Population of the state was 10,179 in 1931.Privy purse of state at the time of accession in to independent India on10 June 1948  was Rs.26,000.

Ambliara state was founded around 1619 by Thakor Saheb Krishnadasji, a descendant of Queen Rani Popadevi of  Jalore. The state was ruled by a dynasty belonging to the Songara  Chauhan Koli clan.

A single one paisa banknote was issued by the state. It is an undated and also a very rare note.

Ambliara State was merged with Baroda State under the Attachment Scheme on 10 July 1943. Finally, Baroda State acceded to the Indian Union on 1 May 1949.

Type  10 :- Used in 1941-47 , Size 80  X 38 mm. , Perf. 10 ½ ,  Wove paper , Value in English in sans serif capitals.

General Stamp  :-

Type  1  :- 1942-46 , Size 62 x 42 mm. Printed with Black on thick card board . It was used as a revenue stamp as well as a cash coupon as a coin during the period of IInd world war when the nation was facing acute shortage of coins.  On front side Sr. No. at the top,  for Ambliara State only / Ek paisa and Thakore Shri Ambliara State printed Gujrati  .On reverse side notice printed in Gujrati.
